Framus Electra

I have a Framus Elektra. But the pickup-cover has the inscription 'US Melody" instead of Framus Elektra. And the headstock has a white pearl celluloid overlay instead of a red one. Was this some kind of export model?

Framus made those in the sixties. To me, it looks like a fairly regular model.

The model is indeed fairly regular. But I was wondering why it has the text MELODY US on the pickup cover instead of Framus Electra. As there was an Italian guitar brand called Melody at the same time.
