Hello!
I have a Star Bass 5/150 that I am restoring for a friend. He isn't sure if he wants to keep it or sell it, so I want to make restoration decisions in case either happens. I have some questions about it:
1. Where can I find a wiring diagram? I am trying to determine what the 2 switches and 3 knobs actually control.
2. I need to replace the bridge pickup. I see a few for sale on Reverb.com. Anyone in this group have a pickup (with the 4 mounting screws) for sale?
3. It appears I will need to raise the bridge up to clear the bridge pickup. What part is recommended to do that?
4. I will need 1 truss rod cover screw. Know where I can find that?
5. The binding on the neck/fretboard is broken off in a few places. For future resale, do you think it is better to keep as is, repair it, or replace it?
6. Should I put flat wound strings on it (versus roundwound)?
7. Anything else you would recommend I looking into when restoring this bass?
