Western vs texan

Hello all. I have a 1968 5/195 western. Just wondering what the actual diffrence is between the the 5/195 western and the 5/196 texan models are cant find any specs to compare. Thanks.

Hello Doomnoodle,
you could distinguish them from across the street: "Western" is a roundshoulder guitar, "Texan" has a dreadnaught shape like these boring old Martins and is 2 or 3 cm wider as well. That's about it, I think.
Not sure about it, but Western could have been around for some time before Texan came into the market in '65.
