How to refresh the finish of a 50y FRAMUS Texan after applying standard Guitar polish

Hi,

After trying to remove the debris of the last 50 years from a FRAMUS Texan, thur finish of the guitar is mat now, not shiny as was intended. I guess the polish was not suitable for the original finish of the guitar. Does anyone know how to restore the original shininess of the polish?
