my grandma showed me an old guitar, that she claimed was at least 60+ years old. I don't have good knowledge about guitars and I would really appreciate any kind of help with this .
It is a Framus Guitar with an elevated pick guard, f-holes and steel strings. The serial number is 20204.
1. Can anyone identify the guitar please? Is it a good guitar?
The tuning pegs are a bit rusty, but they can still turn. The strings snapped so I took them out. Binding and fret board looks good, as well as the pickup bridge. There are no cracks only afew scratches at tze bottom front and the back.
The thing at the bottom where the strings were attached to ( I dont know what it is called sorry) is very rusty as well.
2. How can I clean this up wothout damaging the wood or other parts? And do you think it is still playable after all this time?
Thank you very much, I really appreciate it.
Have a nice day
